I have owned at least three other game systems in my life, and this is by far the most worthwhile one I have ever had. I decided to buy Nintendo DSI because my sister nagged me into it. When I looked at how small it is and the fact that it was still so new to the market, I wasn’t in a hurry to make the investment.
Now, I am so glad my little sister is the irritant that she often is. I have come to love the size of this console. It is easily taken with me whenever I need something light and portable, so I can take it wherever I want to go. I find it amazing that a console this portable literally fits in the palm of my hand. Not only that, but it is so much easier to store than some of the others I have had. I can keep it in my purse, in a backpack, or even in my dresser drawer- which I do when I am home.
This fall I’m leaving for college, and I will be about 200 miles away from my family. That’s the main reason I’m really glad I decided to buy Nintendo DSI. Despite her incessant nagging, my sister and I are very close, and she still has a couple years before she leaves for college. Even though she plans on going to the same school and sharing an apartment with me when she gets here, that is almost two whole years away. With this new game system, of which we each own one, we can keep playing against and with each other, chat, and share photos.
I am so happy to know that I have what I need in order to keep in touch with my sister the way I want to. When I bought this, I didn’t really think about all the opportunity that I was opening up for us. Now, with college starting soon, my new life is becoming more of a reality. I am going to miss being here with my family, but with this as a tool, I can keep in touch with my sister and parents in ways I wouldn’t otherwise be able to.
Growing up and moving on isn’t always easy. Who would have thought that there would be such a thing as a game system to help adjust? I know that getting used to being away from home will be a little easier, and all because I listened to my nagging little sister, whom I will miss a lot.
