New Part of Life, New Way to Play

General

My life has changed drastically over the past few months. I moved out of my girlfriend’s apartment. We didn’t exactly break up, but we did decide to move a bit slower. In the process, though, I lost a lot of things I had accumulated.

There were some things that we both wanted, so we bought them together. When I left, I decided that they weren’t worth fighting over, so I let her have them. I’m not sorry that I let her have them, but some of those things I was very used to having and using, particularly my game consoles. We had two different systems, and she wanted them both.

After I moved out, I saw an ad for a new console called Nintendo dsi. I asked my brother if he had heard of it, and he told me that he had bought one a few days before and that I could come over and try it out. When I saw the system, I was surprised about how small it was. I was sure I wouldn’t end up liking it. After all, it was a handheld system, and that type was for kids, right?

I decided to humor him and play for a while. He set me up to play with one of his friends thanks to the WiFi connection. That option was one that I wasn’t expecting. I thought it would be like most of the others handhelds I’d used – completely useless in terms of extra features. Add that to the fact that I could chat with him while we played, and I was completely blow away. I was really happy about that feature, it takes playing to a whole new level.

After playing my brother’s system, I had to buy dsi for myself. I hated admitting it, but I actually like this smaller console better than any of the full-sized models I had owned in the past. I also found that I can share photos, and use the interactive cameras while playing. There is so much that this system offers. It has added a new way to play to my new way of life.

When I think about my initial thoughts on this console, I am sure that I wouldn’t have decided to buy dsi if I hadn’t personally tried it. I had some misconceptions and doubts about how good it would be compared to what I was used to, but now, I love it and play it more than I should. Oh, and my girlfriend has bought one since I got mine. Now, even if we end up being together for good, there will be no fighting over it.
