I wasn’t sure exactly what game console would be best. I have played at friends’ houses when I was able to, but have never had one of my own before. So when I asked for one for my birthday, I told my dad that I wanted something that was easy to learn, but had lots of add-ons. I told him it’d be nice to play with other people too.
He chose to buy dsi for me. He made an awesome choice. I am able to play with other players, even if I don’t have any friends over at the moment. Because it has WiFi capabilities, I can join in a game with a friend very easily. I had no problem learning how to use it. I read a lot of forums when I first got it, because while I’ve been around lots of different consoles, I wasn’t sure about some of the features on this one. The other board members were really cool about walking me through everything.
As far as adding onto it, I can download exclusive games and applications made just for this system. I can even download music, which is completely cool because I wasn’t sure if I wanted an iPod or a console, and I got both. I love the ability to interact with my friends while we play. We can chat, take pictures, and even see each other live with the interactive camera.
My best friend also decided to buy dsi so we can play each other even when it’s past curfew. We have even had midnight playoffs, which are a lot of fun. I’m pretty sure my dad would be pissed that I was up so late, but at the same time, he thinks the console is pretty cool too, so maybe not.
Playing has become something that I love. I am good at it, and some of my reasoning and strategy skills have gotten a lot better in real life thanks to using some of the options and titles with this system.
I’m glad my dad chose to this for me. I couldn’t have asked for a better console. It has been everything I wanted and more. I didn’t expect to be able to do so much with a console that is so small. And the fact that I can bring my Nintendo dsi with me wherever I go makes it so much better than a larger choice might be for me.
