As I have gotten a little older, I have come to believe something that my parents always said. Winning isn’t everything. When I was younger, and I am only 16 now, I would get really upset if I lost at anything. It didn’t matter whether it was a game of one on one or Go Fish, I would even get angry and tell the winner that they must have cheated.
It wasn’t until the last couple of years that I began to see the truth. I wasn’t always going to be the best. As a matter of fact, there are a lot of gamers who are more experienced and better at planning strategically, and in an instant, than I am or ever will be.
Now, I have an advantage that I didn’t have before. Last week when I got my first paycheck from my new job, I went to buy Nintendo dsi. What really amazes me about this particular console is that I have improved my skills in just a week or so. I know that sounds funny, but maybe I improved because rather than concentrate on the win, I am concentrating on having a lot of fun.
This new console has more than any of the other handheld models I have played. For one thing, it’s smaller than all of the rest of them, and that makes a huge difference in its portability. I can even take it to work and play it on my breaks without a problem. Most of the other handhelds I’ve used are so heavy.
It also has a help center that I can use when I activate the WiFi feature. I think that may have helped me a lot in terms of my skills. With a lot of other systems, you have to actually leave the console to get the cheats or instructions you need. That’s not the case with this.
I also love being able to chat with and see the person I am playing. It brings more socialization into gaming, even when we are far away from each other. Taking pictures with the two cameras that came with the console is seriously fun too. There are a lot of lenses that you can use from serious, to silly, from outrageous to downright hilarious.
I wanted to write a Nintendo dsi review to show my appreciation for this awesome console. I am better at gaming, which is nice. But now that I am enjoying it in ways I never did before, I know that winning isn’t everything. Mom and Dad were right after all. I’m just glad I learned it while I’m still young.
I’ve moved to a whole other level of gaming, and I am in for more than the win. I’m in it for the fun now. This one thing that I will never regret buying.
