My husband and I have been married for fifteen years, and we very much enjoy playing video games together. We’re married, but we’re also really good friends and we totally love playing video games like a couple of teenagers. We’ve had several different systems, and we always play at least one game every evening. So now, he has taken a job driving a truck over the road. I am really sad and so is he, because we don’t get to play video games every night like we used to.
So I just read a Nintendo DSi review, and I am convinced that it is the answer to getting our game time back. It has an internet setting that will allow players to set online and hook up to other players and then they can do their gaming together, from hundreds of miles away. If I go and buy Nintendo DSi, two of the game units for the two of us, we will be able to play games together via the internet every evening, or at least every time he pulls over and takes a sleep break. We can even talk on the phone while we’re playing, and it will be almost like playing in our living room, except that I won’t be able to punch him in the arm when he gets cocky (he’ll probably be happy about that). I’m not telling him that I plan to buy a DSi for us because I want it to be a surprise- plus I’m not real sure when exactly they plan to do it, and it will seem like longer if I get him excited about it now. To be honest, I’m not even really sure where to get one yet, but I’ve got time to figure it out. I’m a smart shopper.
Another really neat feature about the new DSi is that we’ll be able to download music files to it. I’m pretty sure that will be cheaper than the subscription radio service he gets and he’s always complaining that none of the radio stations play the songs he wants to hear. With the new system he’ll be able to choose the songs he wants and listen to them on the road. Anything to make all that time he’s spending away from home bearable is worth it to me. I don’t care how much the thing will cost. And I know he’s just doing what he has to do to make ends meet right now, but I miss having my best friend home every night. That is the main reason why I want to buy Nintendo DSi for us. So that we can have as much fun as we always have when we played games at home. The DSi may be the best thing to happen to us in a long time.
