Nintendo DSi Reviews

I am pretty excited about getting a Nintendo DSi as soon as they come out- and I know exactly which ‘game’ I’m getting for it too.  The cooking one that gives recipes and step by step instructions on how to cook the recipes looks really cool.  My daughter and I love to cook together.  It’s like a mother daughter bonding thing and plus it’s a great way to save money by making Christmas presents for everyone in the family.  It might sound kind of cheesy to some people, but everyone in my family loves to get our cinnamon rolls for Christmas instead of a wrapped gift that may or may not be something they can use.

I think that we’ll have a lot of fun with the DSi and the cooking game- maybe my daughter (she’s seven) will be able to do more of the directions by herself.  And the best part is that with the digital camera and memory card in the system, my daughter and I will be able to use the game system to cook from the recipes, and then take our own pictures of the dishes we make- I’m thinking we can make our own mother daughter cooking scrapbook out of the pictures.  We could write down the dish name and maybe even the recipe on a scrapbook page, and then put a picture of the dish we made on the page too.  It’ll be really neat.  I can’t wait to buy Nintendo DSi just for our cooking adventures.

Of course, when I do get a DSi for the house, my daughter will probably want to get some other games too.  Oh no- and then there’s my teenage son, he will probably commandeer the thing to play game on it- I probably should get one for him too.  I think he wants one, come to think of it, because I saw him reading a review on the computer the other day.  He hasn’t said anything about it though.  Maybe it will make a good surprise birthday present for his birthday in April (I hope it’s available by then).

Once I decide where to buy a DSi, I think I’m going to try and find some of those thinking games for adults- I think they’re called ‘Brain Age’ or something like that.  They say that as you get older, you need to exercise your brain so that you don’t lost your ability to think or something like that.  But still, the games look pretty fun even if they are ‘educational’.  I’ve also seen some really neat looking games that have dogs and cats that are like little video game pets that you can take care of.

So anyway, I’ve gone on and on here, but I just wanted to say that I am so excited about the new game system and I can’t wait to get a DSi for my family.  We don’t have any of the portable game systems now, so I think it will be a real treat.
