I got the Nintendo DSi for my birthday, and, I’ve gotta be honest, I didn’t think I’d like it. I’m not a huge video game fanatic, and I was pretty sure that my husband wanted to buy a Nintendo DSi mainly so that he could play with it. I decided to hold onto it in order to torture him a bit and I was eventually going to give it to him, or to at least let him play with it a lot.
Then, the weirdest thing stated happening – I began playing with the system. I knew that people were going all over the place and doing everything to get one, which is probably why I wanted to try it to see what was so special about it. Once I turned it on and began messing around with it, I realized that it could do a lot more than just play video games! I saw that I could listen to music with the DSi system, and that I could take pictures with it. A lot of friends got their picture taken unsuspectingly because they thought it was just a regular DS.
When I went to the DSi Store I downloaded the notebook application and boy has it come in handy. I’ve been able to put grocery lists on it and little things to remember. I’ve even messed around with animating a big, just to show my husband that I could, of course.
I think the thing that I like the most about the system is that it’s small. It’s so small that I can put it right in my purse and know that it won’t go anywhere. I have slipped it into the side pocket and have almost lost it because it’s so small, and I thought the other day that I forgot it in the store when it had been slipped into my pocket.
It may be small, but it’s powerful. I’ve been able to play tons of games with it when I’m waiting for meetings and other things, and it doesn’t run out of battery very quickly at all. I know that people buy Nintendo DSi for its ability to play music, but so far I haven’t done much of that. I may have to, though, because I’m sick of carrying my MP3 player around.
I don’t know where to get one now, or else I’d buy one for my husband, because he hasn’t been able to get a hold of mine at all. I’m seriously in love with it. All of the Nintendo DSi reviews are right when they say that it’s not just a kid toy, because I’ve found more enjoyment in the DSi than I have in most adult toys out there. I can’t wait for some of the more smart software to come out so that I can challenge my husband…if I let him touch my DSi.
