Nintendo DSi Reviews

I was just getting used to the DS Lite!  I’ve only had it for about six months, and now I wish I had waited to get one because I could have gotten a Nintendo DSi system instead.  Sure it’s fifty bucks more expensive, but look at all the extra stuff it has.  In addition to everything that the Lite has, well almost everything- they’re getting rid of the GBA game slot, I guess because they figure the GBA system is antiquated.  But Nintendo is taking all the cool game playing capacity of the DS and adding half a dozen new features.  Like WiFi internet capability, for instance.  I wonder if I would be able to access my email from a DSi.  That would be neat.  And it wouldn’t surprise me one bit.  It seems like all the technology is moving toward small devices that can do a whole bunch of things at once.  From what I’ve read in some of the DSi reviews, that seems to be what Nintendo is doing with the DSi.

The new Nintendo DSi will have the game play features of the Lite, but it will have a built in digital camera and a built in music player.  It would be really handy to be able to carry one game system and take pictures with it too.  I wonder if the camera function will work well enough to totally replace the digital camera.  That would be pretty awesome.  One less electronic buddy to carry around.  Plus, with the music player feature, I wouldn’t have to carry around an iPod to.  Another electronic buddy I wouldn’t have to carry with me.  With all the different features and functions the DSi will have, I wonder how long the battery will last.  Surely I will be able to use the power converter I bought to plug into the car with the DSi just like I do with the DS Lite.  If you play it when it’s plugged into AC power, then it never uses the battery and it’s always charged if you need to take it somewhere where there is no AC power available.  I think I have talked about it enough that now I want to buy Nintendo DSi to replace the one I have now.  It will just be able to do so many more things than the Lite can do in a smaller unit.

Now I just need to find out where to buy a DSi.  I hope they are available readily instead of being understocked like some of the other game systems I’ve heard of.  I guess the best idea would be to go to one of those online stores where you can preorder items to be shipped the day they are released.  But what am I going to do with my DS Lite once I buy one?  I don’t think I’ll have any reason to keep it.  I bet I could donate it to a children’s organization.  I mean after all, it still works and it is a great little game system.  I think that’s what I will do.  So now I’m all hyper to buy a Nintendo DSi and it’s not even going to come out until Spring.  I guess I’ll just be happy with my Lite until then.
