Living in a college dorm has its ups and downs. It’s nice that I’m out of my parents house and that I get to decide when I go to bed and when I listen to loud music, but it’s annoying that I have to share with someone else. I don’t have any brothers or sisters, so I’m not used to having to share anything. I didn’t think it was going to cause a problem until I tried to share the Playstation 2 with my roommate. Boy was that a disaster area.
Every time I turned around she and I were fighting over who was going to get time to use it. Whenever I wanted to use it, she wanted to play it, and since we both pitched our money in to buy it, neither of us could claim it. This is what got me to start looking for a handheld video game. I like to spend some solitary time, and playing video games gives me that brainless time that I need, and if I have to share a video game system with her for the next few years I’ll probably go insane.
I’m really looking forward to being able to buy the Nintendo DSi. The first thing I noticed when I read the DSi reviews is that it’s affordable. I don’t have to get a loan out or put it on my already stressed out credit card in order to buy it. I’m not sure how many games I’ll get at first, but they’re not too expensive either, which is nice for a struggling college student like myself.
I love that when you buy a Nintendo DSi you don’t have to buy batteries. I can’t afford to buy batteries! The DSi system runs on a rechargeable special battery, so I can just plug it in whenever I’m in class and it’ll be ready to use when I get out.
What really intrigued me about the DSi is that you can take pictures with it and listen to music. That is just really great to me. I love taking pictures when I’m on campus and having a camera readily available when I get it is such a great idea to me. This way I don’t have to lug around anything else in my already over-filled bag.
I’ll probably go online to figure out where to get one and even though I don’t know if I’ll be able to get it the second it comes out, I’m hoping that I will be able to. I just can’t wait to be able to play video games by myself and to not have to share the game system anymore, with anyone. I’m also looking forward to the different accessories that I can get with the DSi, especially the pedometer!
