I’m a professional blogger. It’s a weird title, for sure, and I often have to explain to someone what a professional blogger is, and what they do, for quit awhile before they actually understand how it works. I know a lot of other people who work online, and it seems like most people are finding work online a lot easier than they are finding work in many other places.
Because my job is web based, it’s vital that I have access at all times. While I tend to stick pretty close to my laptop, there are times (rare though they are) when I travel outside of my home without my laptop. I do have a cell phone, but I haven’t upgraded to a smart phone yet, leaving me virtually internet-less whenever I go out and about.
When you buy it, however, the reviews say that you’re not only getting a gaming system, you’re getting internet access. The Nintendo DSi system comes with what they are calling the DSi browser. This program is a way to access the internet from your DSi. You can use wireless connection with a DS, but it wasn’t really utilized very much, aside from allowing you to play with a friend who had the same game as you did.
The Nintendo DSi reviews, however, say that the DSi browser actually allows you to go online to different websites. While they do say that web browsing is a bit slow, at least you’re still able to get online. This means that I could check my email no matter where I was so that I didn’t have to worry that leaving the house meant I was going to lose a job offer or two.
I have also seen that when you buy it, you are buying a digital camera as well. I do have a wonderful Canon that I love, but it is huge and a bit too large to carry around just to take shots of random things. The camera in the DSi is more than enough to take quick pictures of things going on around me, and you can edit the photos on the DSi as well, which is a very neat feature.
I also love that you can download music and things to an SD memory card that can be read by the Nintendo DSi. There are lots of times that I want to listen to podcasts but don’t have the time. Now I can buy the Nintendo DSi and bring it along with me to listen to podcasts whenever I’m walking or trying to get from here to there. The only thing I know that I’m going to have a problem with is figuring out where to get it, as it has become so hard to get in Japan and looks as though it will be popular here in the states as well, especially since anything Nintendo seems to sell out quickly.
