I’m one of those parents that doesn’t buy anything for their children without doing serious research on it first. You may call me a bit obsessive, but I like to think that I’m just really careful about what I buy, for a number of reasons. First of all, its easy to buy something dangerous for your child. Once they get out of the crawling around the floor stage, many parents believe that their children are safe. Unfortunately this isn’t true. There are tons of dangers out there for kids now that we never had as children. The internet is a huge place where children can get into trouble, and there are so many different ways that a child can get onto the internet that it’s ridiculous. This is why I tend to look at reviews and to read up on a product quite well before I buy one.
When they heard about it, my kids immediately wanted me to go out and buy the Nintendo DSi. Fortunately for me, it’s not available to purchase yet in the United States. That gave me time to do some research so that I could figure out whether or not buying it was a good idea or not. The first thing I noticed on the Nintendo DSi reviews is that they were written by people of many different ages. Some were kids, some were adults, and all of them had glowing reviews.
I learned that when you buy a Nintendo DSi, you don’t have to worry about buying any batteries, because you can charge the DSi up just by plugging it in, which is a great thing for parents everywhere. I also discovered that there while there are lots of accessories that you can get when you buy the Nintendo DSi, you don’t have to buy any of them, making it inexpensive for parents who want to keep things simple.
The Nintendo DSi system itself is very easy to use and looks great. Kids of all ages can learn to manipulate it using the buttons and the stylus, and even adults can have fun playing around with the different games and things that you can do with it.
The thing that made me the most nervous and that had prevented me from figuring out where to buy the Nintendo DSi was the simple fact that it allows kids to get online. Fortunately I discovered that the system’s browser is as safe as you can get, and that the games that you can get online with are all very safe and allow the kids to play without having to worry that they’re going to give away private information to strangers.
All in all I’m very happy with the DSi and plan to go out and purchase it. Who knows – I may love the Nintendo DSi so much that I may want one of my own! It’s certainly looking as though that might be the case!
