The last time I bought a hand held video game system the screen was black and white (or more like black and gray) and I thought it was the most amazing thing in the world. Technology has changed since then, and now we have things like wireless internet and LCD screens, which is great for the techie like me. Once I had a family, though, I wasn’t able to indulge in all of my techie whims like I wanted to – who knew that diapers cost so much?! But I am really looking forward to being able to buy Nintendo DSi.
I told my wife months ago that the only thing I wanted for my birthday was the DSi system. I started reading the reviews and realized that it would fit perfectly into our lives. The DSi is a great way to play video games when you’re on the go, which we constantly are. Every time I turn around we’re running from soccer to ballet to swimming, and it seems like the only thing I have time to do is to sit there and watch the kids, or to read a newspaper while I’m watching them.
When I purchase a Nintendo DSi, however, I’ll be able to indulge in my techie whims without having to miss anything! The reviews all say that it is a great gaming system to use on the go, for the simple fact that it not only holds a charge well, but that you can see it in any light. The LCD screens are backlit in different amounts, making it easy to see on even the darkest day, and still making it easy to see when we’ve got soccer practice outside.
When you get it you’re not just buying a video game system, you’re buying a digital camera, a music player, and a way to access the internet, in case you decide that you want to be responsible and check your email while you’re waiting for your kids to get done swimming laps (which, in my case, isn’t likely to happen). And while many people use the DSi just for games, I’ll probably use it to listen to music and to take some quick pictures of the kids as well, even thought the megapixels aren’t that high, I can use the program to make funny pics of the kids, which they’re going to love.
The only problems I have now are figuring out where to get it and waiting for it to come out! That is the only complaint I have ever had against Nintendo – they build up our hopes and then make us wait for awhile before releasing the product! I just can’t wait for the DSi to come out and am extremely excited that it will be my first handheld video game system that I’ve owned in a very long time.
