Buy Nintendo DSi

OK, I feel a little weird writing a question like this, but I wondered if anyone knows when I’m going to be able to buy Nintendo DSi- they already have it in Japan, you know?  All I have heard so far is that it will be out sometime in 2009.  I seriously can’t wait to get one of them.  I’ve had a Gameboy Advance ever since it came out, and I only use it to play two games.  I am a die hard Tetris fan and I love Dr. Mario, so I guess I’m one of those people who loves organization puzzle type games.  I play Tetris for so long that I am still thinking about organizing those little pieces while I’m trying to go to sleep at night.  It’s pretty funny.  Anyway, I never bought a DS Lite because I was waiting for the price to drop.  It never happened, but now I’ve been reading all these Nintendo DSi reviews and it sounds so much better than the DS Lite.  So I may end up being really glad that I didn’t spend any money on the Lite before I heard about this one.

From what I’ve been reading, it sounds like the Nintendo DSi system has all the stuff that a DS Lite has, but it also has a built in camera and a music player too.  I’m hoping that I’ll be able to sell my digital camera and not have to replace my broken MP3 player- the new version apparently has an SD memory card just like my digital camera, so I should be able to take pictures and then just put the memory card into the picture kiosk at the store like I do now to get my pictures developed.  It will be pretty cool to have one device that I can use as a camera, a music player, and a game system all in one.  I can’t wait to buy Nintendo DSi.

The only thing I’m worried about, besides where to buy Nintendo DSi, is that it doesn’t have a GBA slot where I can play my old games.  That won’t be such an issue with the Tetris game, because I can get it in DS format, but Dr. Mario is only available in GBA format, so I won’t be able to play that one unless I keep my Gameboy.  Not too happy about that, but it’s a popular game so hopefully they will come out with a Dr. Mario game in Nintendo DSi format.  I hope.

So anyway, I was just wondering if anybody knew where I could find a release date for the new game system.  I am really looking forward to the release and I can’t wait to buy Nintendo DSi.  I obviously haven’t spent any money on a game system in several years, so I’m about due for a new one.  When I go to get it, I’m going to get the biggest SD memory card they have too so I can start taking pictures with it right away.
